Per my contract I am required to disclose these are affiliate links. This means every link on this page I will receive a small kickback from every purchase at no additional cost to you. I plan to use all money I gain from this to put straight back into this club to fund future projects getting supplies and so much more. I do fully endorse and personally use many of the items on this page. The links will be split into labeled groups like supplies, equipment, and what was used in certain projects.
This section is tools and equipment that Eric, Owen, and Jacob all recommend.
This is the pine64 soldering iron I personally use this soldering iron and love it. It does need a power supply you can get away with using the school issued usb-c laptop charger however amazon seems to really like this one which is a 100w usb-c charger.
This is the remote control I use it is very user friendly and reasonably priced for radios. It does not come with batteries and I know of none on amazon that I can vouch for here are some I can vouch for and do know will work and work well the 35E by Samsung are very good if you want to order them on amazon and support the club here are some highly rated ones for not that much more.
These are generic C13 power cables for wall powered electronics
This section is all consumables like wiring, solder, flux, and other materials that can be used to make things.
Three wires I have and strongly recommend to every for easy of use, flexibility, and price
This is flux Eric uses and seems to be the best out of the ones we have tested made by MG chemicals
Kester 44 is arguably one of the best and easiest solders to work with.
This is a highly rated de-soldering wick for whenever you make a mistake.
XT-60 connectors are commonly used power connectors for mid current DC connections typically between batteries and what is using them.
8329TCM this is a thermal epoxy it's a niche item in which you can bond a heatsink to anything, it will be used to bound heatsinks to the lights in the plane.
4.3 gram servos these are quite generic and small which is perfect for tiny projects.
Many of the electronics used in the plane are not sold by amazon but are sold by other companies like GetFPV so only one of the links in this section will have an amazon affiliate link but will also have a GetFPV link, this is the same as the amazon affiliate links it has no raised cost for you but I get a small kick back.
The plane uses the speedybee tx800(amazon)(GetFPV) for the video transmitter it seems to do very well. It also uses a ratel micro 2 for the camera. For a while we used the stock antenna that came with the VTX however recently we upgraded to this (temp)
For the critical electronic systems we used the twin power pack C made by flite test. wing app, and m10-gps.
The foam kit is also available here.
