Here all old and current projects including the rules for the design and images of the projects may be found (updated every sunday)
The RC plane has a near six foot wingspan, two motors, an FPV system, and a cargo bay that allows for dropping of anything 4"x4"x8". This makes it a great platform for future projects and experimentations. The plane is also a wonderful platform for being a trainer.
The egg drop was a challenge where people would have to create a contraption with a maximum size of 4"x4"x8" and the restriction of no parachutes. These contraptions were then dropped out of the RC plane that was built last year. Some survived, some did not. A video of this is coming soon
The laser cut bridge is the current challenge where people are given a template (two 12x3cm rectangles one for the side plate which will be mirrored to the other side and one for the roof. and have to remove as much material as possible while holding the most weight. The score is determined by the difference in weight from the unmodified bridge to the modified bridge multiplied by the weight held in grams. The highest score wins (there is currently no prize.) Please email your final designs to Eric@whhsmakers.club
We have been promised a few sets of electronics with which we will move between planes you design with a swappable system. your plane will use two servos and two motors to fly about.
This project is currently being worked on very slowly and is being worked on in the background along with trying to source funding as this plane is currently budgeted for a little under 500 dollars.
In this project we will be designing a fully custom flashlight, this includes a custom led driver, charging circuit, and housing. We will be using easy eda to design the circuit boards.
